Mito Warrior is an outer space adventure game in which you must restore power to important galaxies in the human star system – Musculus, Cor and Opticus. The game is based on the critical role of mitochondria in the human body. Healthy mitochondria in our cells turn food and oxygen into ATP, while keeping in check the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can damage cells and lead to disease or death. In Mito Warrior, ROS has multiplied into an army of ROSmanians that has spread across the galaxy and must be stopped! Win the game by traveling through the galaxies destroying ROSmanians and restoring power to the Mitoverse.

Mito Warrior was developed to educate players about the vital role mitochondria plays in our healthy bodies, as well as what happens when the mitochondria is damaged – either through genetically acquired mitochondrial disease, or through common diseases of aging.
